If you are the nominator for any of these tags, please comment on this post or email the mod email with clarifications. Nominations can also be edited from the tagset nomination page if they have not yet been approved. Anon commenting is enabled.

If you notice any tags in the tagsets that are duplicate, wandering outside of their fandom, or missing a specified sick character, please let us know in the comments of this post or via email, thank you!

In general, canons with multiple versions should be nominated with the version of the canon the nominator would like to offer/request. Fairy Tales & Related Fandoms is a broad category of widely retold stories which could include anything from a Disney movie to a horror retelling. As such, can the nominator for these relationships please specify a certain version or versions of canons they would be interested in offering/requesting?

Examples of acceptable fandom nominations for Cinderella, for example, would include (but are not limited to) Cinderella (Disney Animated Movies), Cendrillon ou La petite Pantoufle de Verre | Cinderella - Charles Perrault, and Cinderella - Rodgers/Hammerstein/Beane. If no changes are made, these nominations will be rejected at the end of the nomination period.

Freeform Nominations

Illness - Magic Deficiency/Overuse of Magic

These seem like distinct enough conditions that they could be accepted as their own tags. Is there a reason from the nominator for tying them together? Without clarification, this nomination will be accepted as two tags, Illness - Magic Deficiency Syndrome/Disease and Scenario - Overuse of Magic causes Illness.

Pregnancy

For the purposes of this exchange, pregnancy on its own is not considered a disease or period of sickness. However, works focusing on characters experiencing illness and negative symptoms due to pregnancy are within the scope of the exchange. Can the nominator of this tag please clarify a specific illness (ex - Illness - Preeclampsia), scenario (ex - Scenario - Pregnant character is sick), or symptom (ex - Symptom - Morning Sickness) related to pregnancy? If no changes are made, this nomination will be accepted as Illness - Pregnancy Related Illness.

Scenario - Dealing with fresh scars

For the purposes of this exchange, scars on their own are not necessarily illness-related. Can the nominator for this tag please reword this tag to be specifically related to illness or illness symptoms? Some examples could be “Scenario - Dealing with virus-related scars” or “Scenario - Dealing with self harm scars.” If no changes are made, this tag will be rejected at the end of the nominations period.

Scenario - Quarantine

Especially in the past few years, “Quarantine” could refer to many scenarios. Can the nominator for this tag please reword this tag to be more specific to the scenario they would like to offer/request? Some examples could be “Scenario - Global Quarantine”, “Scenario - Sick character must self-quarantine”, or “Scenario - Sick character is quarantined in the hospital.” If no changes are made, this tag will be accepted as Scenario - Global Quarantine

Scenario: Fuck or Die

For the purposes of this exchange, “Fuck or Die” as a trope is not necessarily illness-related. Can the nominator for this tag please clarify a specific, illness-related scenario? Some examples could be “Scenario - Sick character must have sex or die”, “Scenario - Sex is the cure to sick character’s illness” or “Scenario - All sick characters must have sex or die.” If no changes are made, this tag will be accepted as Scenario - Sick character must have sex or die.

I actually just nominated a similar Little Red Riding Hood nom before seeing this, oops. For me, personally, I nominate general fairy tales rather than, say, specifically Perrault because I'm open to anything from a childhood bedtime story to a modern parable to a feminist subversion to comedy to horror to monsterfucking in terms of vibes.

For the Illness - Magic Deficiency/Overuse of Magic, I grouped them together since they both imply a lack of magic as the reason for the illness. I didn't want it to be too limiting by separating them, but I don't mind if you separate it or keep it together. Thank you!

Hi! I believe "Magic Deficiency" is an in-universe illness in some canons and may imply a long-term illness, while the general "overuse of magic" may be temporary, so I will go ahead and separate them if you're OK with that. Thanks for reaching out!
